Fenfowl are over twenty years of breeding starting with Sumatra x Carlisle Old English Game. These birds were bred to Old English Pheasant Fowl. Later, after losing much of my stock to fox attacks, blood of Frisian, Hamburg, Oxford Old English game, Sumatra and Black Leghorn were used to keep the utility of eggs and some meat. The last generations have had Silver Hamburg and Old English Pheasant Fowl blood to help stabilise pheno type and fix markings and colours. Some throws backs may occur in combs and colours. Excellent crofting smallholder fowl, some broodiness, good mothers, rearing chicken and pheasant also. Hens lay 250-300 medium whitish eggs. Eggs are collected from multiple pens, where possible no more than two days before dispatching by Royal mail. Fertility is usually over 90%
